JUAREZ, CHIH – With the objective of providing the industrial sector of Ciudad Juarez the opportunity to connect with the main companies dedicated to foreign trade and for university students to reinforce their knowledge, the Logistics, Customs and Transportation Expo has started.
The event, which takes place from April 25 to 26 at the Injectronic Convention Center in Ciudad Juarez, allows students from the Universidad Tecnologica de Ciudad Juarez (UTCJ) and the Universidad Tecnologica Paso del Norte (UTPN), among other schools, to have the opportunity to access technologies, processes, software and other essential tools for their professional development.
Héctor Núñez Polanco, president of Desarrollo Económico del Norte, said that the event has 80 modules, master conferences and networking, where more than 2 thousand people are expected to attend.
Of the participating exhibitors, 63 percent are local, 28 percent will come from the interior of the country and the remaining 9 percent will come from the United States.
For Ciudad Juarez, the logistics theme represents the enhancement of the competitiveness it already has thanks to the skilled labor force, and to take advantage of its proximity to the United States.
The organizers expect an approximate revenue of 20 million dollars in business deals (product of this Expo) during the following months. Nuñez Polanco said that the volume of components and raw material that must move across this border is equivalent to 700 million dollars daily, which requires around 3,500 international truck crossings daily.
