The McAllen Chamber of Commerce announced that Vice President of Economic Development Jorge Sanchez has been named Southwest Regional Representative for the Kauffman Foundation for 1 Million Cups.
The Kauffman Foundation is a renowned organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and fostering economic growth. In the United States, 1MC communities aim to present a supportive and inclusive gateway to their local entrepreneurial ecosystem where entrepreneurs can network and discover solutions around 1 Million Cups.
In this new position, Sanchez will provide strategic leadership and support to more than 25 communities in the Southwest region, including Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas and Puerto Rico. He will oversee and collaborate with entrepreneurs, innovators and economic development stakeholders throughout the region.
Prior to his appointment, Sanchez spent five years as a senior organizer for 1MC McAllen. He also has extensive experience in the economic development arena fostering innovation and empowering local entrepreneurs.
The Chamber of Commerce reported that while Sanchez serves as Southwest Regional Representative, he will continue to serve as Vice President of Economic Development at the business body.
