Ernesto Lozano Martinez, Sub Secretary of Regional Development of the Ministry of Economy and Work in Nuevo Leon, commented that 12 kilometers of railroad infrastructure were built during the first stage of the project, so that Kia may transport its production by train.

Mr. Lozano Martinez indicated that it will be possible to reach Laredo and other places in Mexico and all of the ports, from this plant; besides, if carts are transferred, there is a Ferromex railway that goes to Tampico. The railroad infrastructure will have capacity to handle approximately 900 units a day, thus improving the distribution logistic and transport costs.
