Kia’s value chain reaches out to Coahuila

The arrival of the automaker Kia Motors to Nuevo Leon is also generating investment and jobs in the neighboring State of Coahuila. The automaker Yura Corporation announced that it will invest US$53 million in a plant located in Torreon, which will create about 4,000 openings.

The latest investment project announced for Coahuila´s automotive sector, was the expansion of General Motors’ Manufacturing Complex in Ramos Arizpe, where US$350 million will be allocated to produce the next generation of the Chevrolet Cruze model. The Executive Director of Yura Corporation, Dae-Yeoll Ohm, said that this plant will be installed in the SME Industrial Park, in a 10-hectare area. It will feature an industrial warehouse of about 50,000 m2 which will produce wiring harnesses to supply to Kia Motors and it is expected to be ready in early 2016.
