MESA, AZ – Magna, a major automotive supplier, announced the construction of a new manufacturing plant in Mesa, Arizona.
According to information from the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) and the Great Phoenix Economic Council, the plant will be located in Power Industrial Park and will have almost 230,000 square feet, with which the company is expected to create hundreds of new jobs in the region.
Magna’s new manufacturing plant, representing a multi-million dollar investment, highlights Arizona’s rapidly growing automotive ecosystem, which includes electric vehicle manufacturers Lucid and Nikola, as well as automated vehicle innovators such as May Mobility and Gatik, the ACA noted.
“Magna’s decision to locate its new manufacturing plant in Mesa demonstrates Arizona’s attractiveness to the automotive industry,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority.
Leveraging Magna’s extensive automotive expertise, flexibility and experience working with a variety of OEMs, the facility will incorporate innovative state-of-the-art technology and virtual tools, such as simulations, to ensure the quality and flexibility needed to streamline new product integration.
“The collaboration we have already experienced with the local community has been exceptional,” said Eric Wilds, Magna’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “With a diverse and rich talent base, we can deliver on our commitment to drive innovation and deliver value to our customers.”
