Job creation in Nogales, Sonora, maquiladora industry reached a maximum historic level at the beginning of 2017, informed Jesus Montoya Matus, Director of the Maquiladora Association of Sonora (AMS) Index Nogales. He explained that the manufacturing industry has a record of 39,700 employees so far, exceeding the maximum historic figures in Nogales, of a little over 38,000 recorded in 1999. Montoya Matus informed that there have been four job fairs in coordination with the Economic Development Office, but there is still more promotion to do, in order to have more hiring.
