MCALLEN, TX – The McAllen Chamber of Commerce announced that the International Festivals and Events Association has once again selected the Texas city to host its 2023 Conference.
The October 2023 conference is expected to attract more than 500 visitors to the McAllen Convention Center that could generate an economic impact of more than $87,500.
“We are very excited to return to McAllen, Texas for this year’s convention, and we thank them for their generosity and welcoming hospitality,” said Steve Schmader, IFEA president and CEO.
Schmader commented that McAllen is a vibrant, creative and diverse city that provides a perfect setting for the convention.
Throughout the year, the McAllen Chamber’s Tourism Department diligently facilitates conferences that attract participants from a variety of industries. These conferences play an important role in generating substantial revenue for the city.
The IFEA conference will focus on the many avenues through which festivals and events create ripple effects, including economic growth and tourism, creativity and participation, reducing barriers and strengthening community and cultural ties that serve as a catalyst for social and environmental progress while creating memories to be shared for generations.
“We are ecstatic that the International Festivals and Events Association has chosen to return to McAllen for its 2023 Conference. We look forward to hosting the organization and are eager to continue to welcome them back for future meetings and conferences,” said Tourism Director Alex Arevalo.
