NUEVO LAREDO, TAMPS – Medline Mexico inaugurated a new plant in Nuevo Laredo, with an investment of US$16.2 million; the property will create 930 jobs and strengthen the company’s presence in the state of Tamaulipas.
The Secretary of Economy of Tamaulipas, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, mentioned that the opening of the new plant is a clear example of the favorable investment climate that exists in the state.
Cantú Deándar highlighted that Medline is a world-class company that has trusted in Tamaulipas for 35 years.
“The company has grown steadily in the state, providing value and creating opportunities for more than 4,200 people in Nuevo Laredo,” he said.
Medline began operations in Nuevo Laredo in 1988. At that time, the company was mainly engaged in the sewing of medical apparel. In 2003, it moved to the Oradel Industrial Park and began to focus on the manufacture of surgical products, medical devices and plastic injections.
The new Medline Hudson RCI plant will enable the company to increase its production capacity and strengthen its position in the global market. The company is also committed to social responsibility and the development of the Nuevo Laredo community.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Carmen Lilia Canturrosas, Mayor of Nuevo Laredo; Tim Finnigan, General Manager of Medline; Joaquin Nacher, SR Vice President of Operations of Medline; Aaron Palomares, Director of Operations of Medline; Humberto Martinez, President of Index Nacional; and Enrique Moran, President of Index Nuevo Laredo.
