Mexicali will build a wind farm

MEXICALI – San Matías community, territory of the Kiliwas in the limits of Mexicali will be the enclosure of a wind farm that will generate 30 megawatts.

David Maldonado Gonzalez, director of Comisión Estatal de Energía (CEE), explained that at the end of last year began the work prior to the installation of wind turbines, after 28 years of having planned this project; he explained that it belongs to Grupo FEMSA, owner of Oxxo, Coca-Cola and Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma stores, businesses that would be supplied with the clean energy that will be produced there.

Maldonado Gonzalez stated that he was aware that the project would benefit the Kiliwa community, as the inhabitants would be renting the land.

“They have a benefit and is an important investment in clean energy, Baja California continues to be nationally one of the entities that has more projects of this type,” he said.
