Microsoft seeks to make Juarez a smart city

JUAREZ – With a plan of US$251,778, Microsoft invests in the development of local talent. This is thanks to the courses taught at the Artificial Intelligence Center (CIA) in collaboration with local universities, where students are trained in topics related to innovation and the use of new technologies that will allow to take Ciudad Juarez to another level.

Omar Saucedo, manager of Microsoft Techspark Mexico, based in Juarez, commented that this type of action seeks to add value to the city in order to turn it into a “smart city”.

One example of the courses supported by Microsoft is the “Development of Talent 2021”, which in conjunction with the Institute for Technologist Support and Development and the Axcel Foundation, seeks to train 1,700 young people in topics oriented to artificial intelligence, data and soft skills; advanced electronics and mechanical design.

Through these four blocks, 24 specialized workshops are offered for both university students and high school students.

Eduardo Castillo, general director of the CIA, commented that one of the great challenges for the development and implementation of artificial intelligence internationally is the development of talent, which is why this type of training is carried out through this space, with the support of universities.
