TAMAULIPAS – It seems that the labor dispute in Matamoros hasn’t stopped foreign investment in Tamaulipas.
The French company Engie confirmed that it will invest more than US$12 million in a natural gas project covering the cities of Tampico, Madero, Altamira, Reynosa, Matamoros and Rio Bravo.
For its part, Reynosa announced an investment of US$22 million for the automotive sector and Camargo announced a US$1.1 million investment for the opening of a textile company, according to Governor Francisco Garcia Cabeza de Vaca.
In the case of Reynosa, the automotive firm Delphi Technologies will open a new plant, where 400 jobs will be generated this year. Said plant belongs to the division of Electronics and Electrification and will produce electronic devices for energy management in electric and hybrid vehicles.
Some of the auto parts produced by Delphi Technologies will be inverters, DC-DC converters, motor controllers and transmission controllers, among others.
