Representatives of the North American Development Bank (NADBANK) and the Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Tijuana (CESPT) toured Tijuana to supervise the progress of several water and sanitation infrastructure projects financed through the Green Bond.
The works, which include improvements in the distribution network, treatment and reuse of wastewater, are part of an investment aimed at modernizing the water systems in Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito.
During the day, the company visited facilities such as the Morelos tank, the Abelardo L. Rodríguez water treatment plant, the Otay tank and the Rosarito Norte treatment plant. At the Otay tank, an automated valve system was demonstrated that can be operated remotely from the El Florido plant, 14 kilometers away, thanks to telemetry technology.
Alejandro Olivo Villa, Deputy Director of NADBANK, participated in the tour to verify the use of the resources from the Green Bond. According to the authorities, the objective is to ensure that the projects comply with sustainability and operational efficiency criteria.
CESPT informed that the works will continue to be evaluated on a monthly basis to monitor their development and compliance with their goals.
