ARIZONA – NatureSweet, the largest vertically integrated agricultural company in North America and the #1 snacking tomato brand, celebrated the grand opening of its new greenhouse facility in Bonita, Arizona.
The company will invest more than US$5 million in the facility and plans to hire approximately 250 agricultural workers over the next three years. This investment is expected to have a multiplier impact on Arizona’s economy.
“Arizona is proud to celebrate NatureSweet’s new production facility in Graham County. With this investment, NatureSweet will create hundreds of quality jobs in rural areas of the state and strengthen the region’s important agricultural industry,” said Gov. Katie Hobbs.
According to the Arizona Commerce Authority, NatureSweet will begin growing D’Vines, flavorful cherry tomatoes that are harvested and packed on the vine for maximum freshness. The company plans to expand its production to other conventional and organic produce on the 18 hectares (more than 44 acres) of greenhouse at the Bonita facility.
“Choosing Arizona to plant our seeds is more than a strategic decision, it’s a commitment to innovation, collaboration and the incredible opportunities the state offers. We look forward to contributing to the area’s dynamic landscape and cultivating a successful future together. We have only just begun,” said Rodolfo Spielmann, President and CEO of NatureSweet.
NatureSweet’s investment will stimulate economic growth in a rural and underserved area of southern Arizona, fostering sustainable development and opportunities for local communities.
