Baja California reaffirms its national leadership in the aerospace industry, with investments of US$142 million, in addition to boosting competitiveness which benefits the permanence, growth and arrival of new investments, to render real benefits for the state, such as the generation of 2,250 new jobs in Mexicali, Tijuana and Ensenada, as part of the variety of opportunities offered by this state.
Some of the companies heading these investment projects are: Hutchinson Aerospace, with an investment of US$40 million in Ensenada; Triumph Group with US$9 million to expand its operations in Mexicali, and Esterline Aerospace, which will expand its structure in the city of Tijuana, by investing US$35 million. Similarly, in Tijuana, the company GKN Aerospace announced a US$2 million investment and the company Essilor, dedicated to the manufacture of medical products, plans to invest US$40 million; and two more companies that will jointly invest US$16 million in Baja California.
