JUAREZ, CHIH – The Universidad Tecnológica de Ciudad Juárez (UTCJ) inaugurated its new SMT (Surface Mount Technology) assembly line, in collaboration with NETSMX and IPC Mexico.
The ceremony took place at the SMT Training Center and was headed by the rector Oscar Fidencio Ibáñez Hernández and the executive director of NETSMX, Adrián Nájera.
Ibáñez Hernández emphasized that this project will enable training and certification in electronics manufacturing for students, teachers and professionals in the sector, which will provide them with a practical learning platform.
It will also offer prototyping services, low-volume production and rework of electronic assemblies, with the aim of improving the competitiveness of the regional manufacturing industry, he said.
Ibañez said that this new assembly line with SMT technology will lay the foundation for the new semiconductor career that UTCJ will open next September.
The executive director of NETSMX, Adrián Nájera, explained that this alliance to open a Training and Education Center will make it possible to offer training and certification in electronic manufacturing processes based on international standards.
The implementation of this new SMT assembly line will not only benefit UTCJ’s academic community, but will also boost the growth of the manufacturing industry in Ciudad Juarez, attracting investments and fostering technological innovation in the region.
