NL leads job creation for the second consecutive month

NUEVO LEON – For the second consecutive month, Nuevo León was positioned as the leading state in employment generation at the national level, according to figures from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

In February 2024, companies in Nuevo León registered 17,506 new jobs, representing a 4.3% growth compared to the same month of the previous year. With this result, the state accumulated a total of 36,261 new jobs so far this year, already surpassing half of the total number of jobs created in 2023, which was 75,382.

Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda celebrated this achievement and attributed it to the confidence of investors in the state, as well as the public policies implemented by his government to foster job creation.

“Nuevo León is in fashion, Nuevo León is on everyone’s lips and today we confirm it with these historic records in job generation,” said the governor.

The sectors that registered the highest growth in job creation during February were: Manufacturing with 7,428 jobs, followed by Commerce with 4,205 positions and Business Services with 2,875 vacancies.

The states following Nuevo Leon in the generation of formal jobs were Mexico City with 14,895 jobs; Sinaloa with 11,234; State of Mexico with 10,987 and Sonora with 8,672 vacancies.

Nuevo León authorities were optimistic and are confident that the state will continue to lead the country in job creation for the rest of the year.
