Nuevo Leon achieves a 4.3% expansion

During the third quarter of 2018, Nuevo Leon’s economy showed positive numbers, according to Indicador Trimestral de la Actividad Económica Estatal (ITAEE).

Nuevo Leon ranked in the top 5 fastest growing states, along with Baja California Sur, Veracruz, Aguascalientes and Oaxaca, which had variations of 5.4%, 5%, 4.8% and 4.8%, according to Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi).

According to specialists, the entity is driven by several factors, including the performance of the U.S. economy in 2018, with which it has a close relationship.

“Nuevo Leon still takes advantage of the U.S. economy’s dynamics presented in 2018, showing vigor in its growth,” said the experts.

For its part, Cámara de la Industria de Transformación de Nuevo León (Caintra) forecasts at the current juncture that during 2019 the economy of the entity will be located at 2.74%.

In addition, Cámara Nacional de Comercio (Canaco) Monterrey estimated that by 2019 the economy will grow from 2.3% to 2.6%.
