MONTERREY – The government of Nuevo León presented to the local Congress a request to acquire a debt of US$257 million for the purchase of all urban transport routes in the metropolitan area, currently in charge of private transporters.
With this debt, 4,200 units of public transportation could be purchased and the financing would be charged to the budget items of 2020 and 2021, according to a statement from the state government.
The general minister of government, Manuel Gonzalez Flores, stated that the state government, in defense of users has taken the decision to assume, under the total acquisition, all public transport in the state, in its urban trucks version.
Gonzalez Flores stated that they already have the consensus of public transport entrepreneurs.
