During a business trip to the cities of Tokio and Nagoya, in Japan, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDEC) in Nuevo Leon, met with executives of 20 Japanese firms, with the objective of attract new foreign investment projects to Nuevo Leon.
In the city of Nagoya, they were invited by Toyota-Tsusho, in order to meet with Japanese companies interested in transferring the operations to Mexico to serve their main automotive customers, while other Japanese firms requested the support to carry on their expansion plans. On the other hand, the Nippon Steel Company, which has a joint-venture with Ternium in the Municipality of Pesqueria made a request to Fernando Turner Davila, Head of SEDEC, for a Training Center and infrastructure in this region.
