Nuevo Leon occupied a spot as the second State with the most FDI from January through September 2016, after Mexico City, with US$2.23 billion, equivalent to 11.3% from the total, according to data from the Ministry of Economy and Labor in the State.
There was a record of 107 foreign investment projects in Nuevo Leon during this year, with an estimated add-up of US$3.34 billion, generating 14,988 direct jobs. Fernando Turner Davila, Secretary of Economy and Labor, declared in August this year, that despite the deceleration in Mexico’s economic activity, Nuevo Leon is still growing, with 84 investment projects registered during the first semester, worth roughly US$2.64 billion, creating 8,126 direct jobs.
