NUEVO LEON – Despite the uncertainty caused by political and social events in Mexico and the United States, industrialists in Nuevo Leon remain optimistic for 2019, and asked the president of Mexico to generate operational and economic conditions.

Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera, president of Cámara de la Industria de la Transformación (CAINTRA) in Nuevo León, declared that the blockades in the railway tracks in the south of the country, as well as the problems of gasoline shortage for the commercialization of products have been factors that have affected the industry.

However, he mentioned that the industry in the entity continues to grow at a very similar rate to last year, creating at the beginning of this year, 16,000 jobs while reflecting an important increase in terms of confidence of industrial producers, traders and consumers.

The industrial sector also highlighted as positive, both for industry and for the consumer, the attenuation of inflation of some prices.

“For industrialists, inflation in inputs and raw materials, in the first month of the year was 4.9%, a considerable reduction over the last half of 2018, where we surpassed increases of 6%,” said Garza Herrera.
