Nuevo Leon, leader in manufacturing during 2019

NUEVO LEON – In 2019 Nuevo Leon positioned itself as the main manufacturing engine of the country, a place that corresponded to the State of Mexico for decades.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), in the first 10 months of 2019 the highest manufacturing production value was presented in said entity, with a total amount of US$44 billion.

It is worth mentioning that the three main industries in Nuevo León are transportation equipment, basic metals and food; which together add up to 52.9% of the total value.

Thus, the first national place of the state belonged to the transportation equipment subsector, with a contribution of 31.0%, which presented an average annual increase of 14.1% in the last six years.

Other important growths were in tanning and finishing of leather and fur; manufacturing of leather products, fur and substitute materials with 11.9%; beverages and tobacco with 8.6%; printing and related industries 7.5%; plastic and rubber 7.3%; as well as paper with 7.2%.
