Nuevo León ranked first nationwide in both job creation and new companies within Mexico’s IMMEX export manufacturing program during January, reinforcing its position as the country’s industrial powerhouse.
The state added four new IMMEX establishments in the month, bringing its total to 739—the highest in the country and a clear sign of sustained investment and industrial expansion.
In terms of employment, Nuevo León also led the nation by generating 4,984 new direct jobs, reaching a total of nearly 400,000 workers under the IMMEX program. This performance significantly outpaced national figures, where only a limited number of jobs and new facilities were recorded during the same period.
Officials attribute the strong results to the state’s competitive industrial ecosystem, including its infrastructure, skilled workforce, and integration into global supply chains. These factors have continued to attract companies focused on manufacturing and exports.
The IMMEX program, which allows companies to temporarily import materials for manufacturing and re-export, remains a key driver of economic activity in the region. In Nuevo León, it has become a central pillar for job creation and international trade growth.
As Mexico’s manufacturing sector faces mixed performance nationwide, Nuevo León’s momentum highlights its strategic importance in sustaining industrial development and attracting foreign investment.
