The State of Nuevo Leon will receive two new investments totaling US$920 million, for the municipality of Cienega de Flores and the Interpuerto Monterrey. According to Celina Villarreal Cardenas, former head of the Ministry of Economic Development (Seder) in the State, a company of the advanced manufacturing sector will invest US$800 million in Cienega de Flores.
While the U.S. Company Mondelez International, made an expansion in Interpuerto valued in US$120 million, which will increase to US$400 million within the next three years. Ms. Villarreal stressed out that the Oreo cookies maker planned to invest US$400 million for a long-term consolidation; however the company decided to advance its growth plan. Moreover, Celina Villarreal said that the arrival of four investment projects to Interpuerto are expected within the coming years. These projects total US$450 million from companies of the manufacturing, automotive, logistics and beverages sectors. Hyundai Mobis also opened a distribution center in this logistics center, with a US$100 million investment.
