CHIHUAHUA – In the framework of the Ordinary General Assembly of the Chihuahua Mining Cluster, Paola Cázares Pérez and the new board of directors of the Cluster were sworn in by the Secretary of Innovation and Economic Development, Ulises Fernández, after the conclusion of Pablo Méndez’s term of office.
Fernández swore in the new members of the organization and reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Chihuahua to continue encouraging and promoting mining activities, and also highlighted the importance of having allies to face the current challenges of the sector.
Blanca Paola Cázares expressed her gratitude for her election, not as a gender quota but as a sign that women play a very important role in the mining sector, from operational to decision-making positions.
In addition, Cázares highlighted the three pillars on which she will focus during her administration, such as the development of supply and innovation, sustainability and government relations.
The new president of Clumin is the Director of Sustainability and Public Relations of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, and has 18 years of experience in the sector.
Mining is one of the most important activities for the economic development of Chihuahua, currently the state mining production value amounts to 15 billion 373 thousand pesos, occupying the third place at national level; second place in silver production; third place in lead and zinc; and fourth place in gold and copper production.
