PHOENIX, AZ – The city of Phoenix was recognized as one of America’s top employers by state in Forbes’ 2023 list. Phoenix ranked 19th on the Arizona list, which included 74 companies.
“We are very proud to be recognized as one of Arizona’s top employers,” said City of Phoenix Human Resources Director David Mathews. “This honor is a testament to our city’s commitment to creating a great workplace for our employees.”
Forbes worked with market research firm Statista to compile the Best-In-State lists. They anonymously surveyed 70,000 workers nationwide at companies with 500 or more employees.
Employees were asked to rate their company on qualities such as working conditions, compensation packages and diversity. They were also asked if they would recommend their company to others. Companies did not pay to participate.
In the Forbes survey, Phoenix employees praised the city for its working conditions, compensation packages and commitment to diversity. Employees also said they would recommend Phoenix to others.
“We are committed to creating a workplace where our employees feel valued and supported,” Mathews said. “We will continue to work to improve our work environment and provide our employees with the opportunities they need to succeed.”
