Authorities and organizers presented the details of the 2025 edition of the RGV Startup Week, a regional event focused on entrepreneurship and innovation that will take place from April 25 to May 2 in various cities in the Rio Grande Valley.
The initiative is coordinated by the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) and the Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center (ECC) of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), with the participation of economic development agencies from cities such as Pharr and Harlingen, among other partners.
The event seeks to boost the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through an agenda that includes workshops, pitch competitions, networking spaces and keynote speeches.
One of the main activities will be a fireside chat on Monday, April 28, with the participation of former Mexican president and businessman Vicente Fox as guest speaker. Tickets for this event will be available starting Friday, April 4.
During the press conference, Cori Pena, president and CEO of BCIC, informed that this year the programming will be extended to six cities in the Valley in order to broaden its scope and strengthen collaboration between business and academic stakeholders.
The main sponsor of the event will be Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest, which will participate as part of the group of companies that support local economic development and entrepreneurship initiatives.
RGV Startup Week 2025 seeks to consolidate the Rio Grande Valley as an emerging benchmark for innovation and entrepreneurship in South Texas.
