SAN DIEGO, CA – The city of San Diego, California was chosen as the third best location in the United States for business events and conventions, according to a ranking published by Cvent.
The agency’s list includes the top 50 destinations in North America for business meetings.
The rankings are based on an analysis of more than US$14 billion in group business value obtained through Cvent in 2022, including hotels, venues and destinations.
At the top of the list is the city of Orlando, Florida. This is due to the Orange County Convention Center, one of the largest in the country and the city with the second largest concentration of hotel rooms in the country. Orlando has about 450 hotels and resorts, as well as some 26,000 vacation rental homes, 16,000 owned vacation homes and more than 170 golf courses.
The city of Nashville, ranked as the second most popular destination, includes Southern mansions, majestic gardens and historic music venues and dazzling skyscrapers. It is only 600 miles from 50% of the U.S. population. Each year, Nashville’s event venues welcome millions of visitors due to the city’s status as a business and entertainment center.
San Diego ranked third in the ranking with a total of 135 hotels for a total of 58,000 rooms and a convention center with 2 million 600,000 square feet of space.
The agency noted that San Diego is famous for its pleasant year-round weather, and this forecast means more than just cool breezes and a sunny outlook for a successful meeting. It also highlighted amenities such as the world-famous zoo, taco trucks near Michelin-starred restaurants, and various activities for creativity and productivity before, during and after a meeting.
The top ten was rounded out by cities such as Las Vegas, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix and Denver.
