TIJUANA – With an investment of US$145.5 million, Smurfit Kappa inaugurated a folding carton manufacturing plant in Tijuana, offering 250 jobs in the area and using digital technology to optimize production costs.
Smurfit Kappa currently has 26 plants in Mexico, 3 of them currently located in Tijuana, in addition to a new location that will operate with state-of-the-art technology.
This plant will start with an annual production of 10 million square meters and plans to double that number in 5 years.
The plant has tools that allow customers to know about designs handled by the company, along with this technology allows the industry to have efficient communication with the customer.
