SONORA – The maquiladora company Tetakawi presented awards to the ninth generation of the Centro de Capacitación y Talento Empresarial (CCTE).
“The Government of Sonora and the business sector have worked together in favor of education and inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace, through life skills courses offered by the CCTE,” said Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño.
During the graduation ceremony, the state governor highlighted the effort made by Sonora’s businessmen, as well as by people with disabilities to integrate into the labor sector within the maquiladora company.
In the last five years this program has trained 90 people, and 100 people with and without disabilities have been included in the CCTE.
The objective of these trainings is to make people with motor disabilities independent in their daily lives and to incorporate them into the labor field in Tetakawi, allowing men and women to be able to move in their environment.
The CCTE is made up of workshops with topics such as health, activities of daily living, and transfers; job training with job interview, internal regulations and basic knowledge about manufacturing; physical training in the use of the appropriate wheelchair, overcoming architectural barriers such as sidewalks and stairs; as well as CCTE guidelines, personal development and life project.
