ARIZONA – Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño met with more than 30 business leaders and authorities from different Arizona tribes to promote the advantages and economic development of Sonora, in order to attract more investment to the state.
During the meeting, Durazo Montaño took the opportunity to present the aspects of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan.
The governor emphasized that Sonora is currently experiencing a period of full economic development. In the meeting, held at the Consulate General of Mexico in Phoenix, with the authorities of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, White Mountain Apache, Tohono O’odham Nation and Ak-Chin Indian Community, it was highlighted that in Sonora the Justice Plans are being carried out, with which the demands of the different native peoples of the state have been met, giving them the value they deserve.
In addition, it was emphasized before businessmen of different activities, that the strategic location and logistics, the economic impulse, as well as the Modernization of the Port of Guaymas and the Guaymas-Chihuahua Highway, is fundamental to strengthen the relationship between Sonora and Arizona.
For his part, Kasey Velasquez, president of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, described the meeting as historic, as they were taken into account and highlighted the opportunity to establish alliances and projects in Sonora in the near future.
