Currently, the State produces 80% of the resin in Mexico for exports and domestic consumption. This is a competitive advantage for the establishment and consolidation of a plastic cluster in Altamira, in order to attract new investments, by creating industrial synergies
in coordination with CADEPLAST (Plastic chains of Southern Tamaulipas), said Monica Gonzalez Garcia, Minister of Economic Development and Tourism. The State´s Government promotes the Technological and Industrial Park (TECNIA), which has 17 hectares, with 7 hectares available for the establishment of companies in the plastics industry in this industrial area. Its location offers many competitive advantages, including the settlement of 69 manufacturing companies in the petrochemical, plastic and chemical industry in the south of Tamaulipas; in addition to its proximity to the NAFTA region, facilitating the process of importation and exportation of products.
