TAMAULIPAS – In order to safeguard the integrity of more than 8 thousand exhibitors and students that will attend the Mexican Petroleum Congress in the south of Tamaulipas, the state and municipal Civil Protection authorities, in coordination with the organizing committee, have taken preventive measures due to the weather situation as a result of tropical storm Alberto.
José Ramón Silva, Secretary of Energy Development of Tamaulipas, stated that all security measures have been considered to carry out the event.
The Mexican Petroleum Congress has generated an economic revenue of more than 123 million pesos in the metropolitan area of Tamaulipas, with the hotel zone and restaurants at maximum capacity.
“We have taken all the necessary precautions due to the climatological phenomenon that reaches the area. We know that it could change radically, but we are in constant contact with the organizing committee and Civil Protection to make the best decisions,” commented Silva.
On the subject of civil protection, the Secretary of Energy Development affirmed that the authorities have been very attentive for months. In addition, everything that must be followed is being considered, such as transportation, emergency exits and all the conditions for the event to be carried out in the best way.
It is worth mentioning that the event had a modification and started on Thursday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. with the inauguration, with the participation of Governor Américo Villarreal, as well as the Federal Secretary of Energy, Miguel Ángel Maciel Torres, and the Director of PEMEX, Octavio Romero Oropeza.
