TAMAULIPAS – The Secretary of Economy of Tamaulipas, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, highlighted that the state is developing a greater modernization of infrastructure for foreign trade, as a result of the collaboration with the federal government.
While attending the swearing-in ceremony of the new Board of Directors of the Customs Brokers Association of Tampico and Altamira, chaired by Rolando Ramírez Monroy, Cantú Deándar highlighted that the strategic projects underway will increase the state’s competitiveness to attract investment, generate employment and improve the welfare of families.
The official pointed out that the collaboration and understanding of the different levels of government is key in the promotion, management and development of the necessary infrastructure to create the best conditions to take advantage of the global nearshoring situation.
Before the community of Customs Brokers from the south of the state, the head of the Ministry of Economy highlighted the installation of the National Customs Agency, the expansion of Bridge III and the second railroad bridge in Nuevo Laredo.
In addition, during the meeting, she highlighted the modernization of the Reynosa – Pharr and Reynosa – Anzaldúas international bridges; the strengthening of the port infrastructure of Tampico and Altamira and the investment announced by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, of 10 billion pesos for the state’s customs.
Ninfa Cantú expressed her congratulations to the outgoing board of directors of the Tampico and Altamira Customs Brokers Association, headed by Andrés Suárez Villarreal, and endorsed the state government’s commitment to collaboration and dialogue with the new 2023-2025 leadership, headed by Rolando César Ramírez Monroy.
The ceremony was attended by the municipal president of Tampico, Jesús Nader; the president of the Confederation of Customs Brokers Associations of the Mexican Republic, CAAAREM, Miguel Cos Nesbitt, representatives of port and customs authorities of Tampico and Altamira, as well as presidents of business organizations of the southern suburban area of Tamaulipas.
