Baja California, Nuevo Leon and Chihuahua are the states with the greatest number of Manufacturing, Maquila, and Export Services Industry (IMMEX) businesses, while the states with the most outstanding export rates are Tamaulipas, Chihuahua and Baja California, said Federico Serrano Bañuelos, President of Mexico’s National Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry Association (INDEX).
IMMEX Export Manufacture reached a US$51.4 billion record during the first trimester this year, with Tamaulipas ranking first among the states, with exports worth US$19 billion, followed by Chihuahua, with US$11 billion exports, Baja California with US$7 billion and Nuevo Leon with US$2.1 billion, according to the Mexican Institute of Geography and Statistics (INEGI).
