Tamaulipas ranked third in terms of industrial growth at the national level, registering an annual variation of 6.3% during March 2025, according to INEGI’s Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by State (IMAIEF).
According to official data, this positive performance was mainly driven by the construction, manufacturing, and mining sectors, which showed growth during this period.
The State Ministry of Economy reported that so far this year, Tamaulipas has attracted US$232 million in foreign direct investment and more than US$8.6 billion in exports.
Currently, 60% of confirmed investment projects in the state are linked to industry, particularly in sectors such as automotive, electrical-electronic, chemical-petrochemical, aerospace, logistics, and medical.
One recent example is the expansion announced by INTEVA in Matamoros, with an investment of 150 million pesos.
According to state government figures, the industrial sector generates around 465,000 jobs, representing 28% of the employed population in Tamaulipas.
