BAJA CALIFORNIA – Between 25% and 30% of the 17,000 job vacancies in Baja California come from the medical industry, said Miguel Ángel Féliz Díaz, treasurer of the Cluster of Medical Devices.
Féliz Díaz argued that, unlike other industrial activities such as aerospace or technology, medical devices are stable and do not depend on temporality.
“Since the arrival of past migrant caravans, several companies in the cluster have registered to offer them employment options,” he said.
Something that facilitated the hiring of Central Americans, said the treasurer, was the opening offered by the National Institute of Migration (INM), to generate Unique Population Registration Codes (CURPs) that allowed migrants to have a social security number and be able to integrate themselves into the workforce.
