The sixth edition of Expo Wiretech, a binational event focused on the wiring harness industry, will take place on September 10 and 11 at the Civic Center in El Paso, Texas.
Carlos Ernesto Ortiz Villegas, representative of the Governor’s Office in Ciudad Juárez, reported that the event seeks to strengthen the sector’s supply chain and promote links between companies in the border region.
According to the organizers, Expo Wiretech is one of the most important platforms in the north of the country for promoting industrial development, technological innovation, and business in the area of electrical and electronic harnesses.
Miguel Samaniego, director of industry at the Secretariat of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE), explained that the aim is to attract foreign direct investment and encourage Mexican companies to manufacture components locally.
Jesús Duarte, president of Expo Wiretech, said that more than 120 exhibitors from North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America are expected to participate. Innovations in automation, machinery, and specialized technology will be presented.
Currently, the state of Chihuahua has approximately 136 plants dedicated to the manufacture of harnesses, 76 of which are located in Ciudad Juárez, according to figures shared during the presentation.
