Tijuana exports escalating US$8 million

The one hour extension in the operation hours of the customs’ offices at the Tijuana border zone, which benefits some companies, has allowed for an increase of up to US$8 million in merchandise exchange, increasing regional commerce and reducing waiting times for customs processes.

Luis Manuel Hernandez, President of the Export Industry Association in Tijuana (INDEX), explained that the one-hour extension of the customs office services, has generated indirectly 22,000 new jobs from February 2016 to February 2017, due to growth in aerospace, medical supplies and electronic products companies.
