The city of Tijuana, Baja California, is home to 30% of the 325 companies that make up the aerospace sector in Mexico. Its geographical position is strategic for connectivity and to become a logistics hub capable of benefiting the aerospace sector as well as other industries, besides contributing with 50% of the 45,000 employees from the sector.
There are prospects for this sector’s exports to peak at US$12.26 billion in 2021, thus consolidating Mexico among the top 10 countries in this matter, which would be an advantage to support the cargo movement in this airport, points out Luis Echeverria, President of Interamerican Investment Group. According to the General Direction of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), the cargo transported in Tijuana grew by 16.53%, compared to the same period from last year.
