TAMAULIPAS – Fernando Rocha Olivera, minister of Tourism in Tamaulipas, stressed that investors happen to have a favorable mood towards the entity while the registration of two million passers-by during Easter last week to Tampico-Madero is attracting new brands; a new hotel and four restaurants will come to the entity this year.
Without giving details, he mentioned that two other hotels are planned for Tampico and one more in Altamira, while the government is doing its own thing, to become a facilitator for companies interested in expanding in the center, south and north of the state.
Rocha Olivera said that this boom not only is takin place in this town but also on the beaches of Baghdad in Matamoros and Soto la Marina, where investors are also interested in studies to realize formal projects.
He added that the expectations for the hotel industry are very good, as it anticipates 100% occupancy in beach hotels whose influx of travelers will be between 6 and 8% higher this Easter.
