JUAREZ, CHIH – During the months of March and April, the flow of international crossings in Ciudad Juarez showed an increase of up to 1.2 percent, according to statistics from the Chihuahua Border Bridge Trust.
The agency detailed that during the month of March a total of 1,116,890 crossings were registered between pedestrians, vehicles and express line, on the bridges managed by said trust, while in April, the figure rose to 1,131,405.
The trust explained that the Paso del Norte Bridge went from 481,175 to 486,356 crossings in April, of which 277,298 were pedestrians, 191,742 vehicles and 17,316 express vehicles, which represented 43 percent of the total traffic.
For the Zaragoza International Bridge, the capacity was 447 thousand 889 crossings, among them, 149 thousand were pedestrians, 154 thousand 673 vehicles and 144 thousand 216 express line crossings, which is equivalent to 39.5 percent of the total in April.
In the month of March the Zaragoza-Ysleta Bridge had a record of 445,249 crossings, but at the end of April there were 2,640 more users who used this port to the United States.
In the case of the Guadalupe International Bridge, 4.4 percent crossed through this access, registering 52,884 between pedestrians and vehicles at the end of April. In March, 51,065 crossings were recorded.
Meanwhile, at the Lerdo International Bridge, the capacity was 147,302 express vehicles, which represents 13 percent of the total capacity of the previous month.
This figure represents a 5.3 percent increase, after the 133,404 vehicles registered in Lerdo in March.
The trust indicated that these figures will continue to increase, as summer vacations are approaching in the different educational institutions both in Ciudad Juarez and El Paso, Texas, a period that will be used by users to travel, visit relatives or spend a pleasant time away from their city of origin.
