PHOENIX, AZ – United Foods International (USA), Inc. announced a new production facility within the Envision Dobbins 202 West industrial park in Phoenix.
This facility will enable the company to double its liquids production in the state and expand its capabilities to meet growing demand. When the facility is fully operational, the company plans to hire more than 100 employees.
“Great things are happening in our city, and we are thrilled that United Foods International (UFI), Inc. is choosing Phoenix as the location for its new production facility,” said Mayor Kate Gallego.
“We are thrilled to bring our unique and authentic food products to the vibrant city of Phoenix. Beyond core flavors, our goal is to offer consumers a taste of Japanese and Asian cultures through our diverse range of offerings, while supporting the local economy through job creation and partnerships with local suppliers,” said Take Shimura, President and COO of United Foods International.
The 126,000-square-foot facility will house advanced spray dryers and will initially process more than 2.5 million gallons of liquid powder per year. With future plans to install more drying chambers. In addition, the plant capacity will double to 5 million gallons.
This new production facility will be UFI’s second in Phoenix. Its first facility in the city began operations in 2021 and is growing exponentially, creating the need for UFI to significantly increase its liquid processing capabilities.
Construction of the new facility is underway, with operations expected to begin in the summer of 2025. The company currently has contract manufacturing facilities in Hayward, California, Belcamp, Maryland, and Phoenix, Arizona. Its private label products include sauces, dressings, condiments and dry mixes, such as batters and seasonings, for a wide range of industries, including restaurants and retail.
