The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Ciudad Juarez (Canaco Servytur) and the Technological University of Ciudad Juarez (UTCJ), signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through the course of Alignment in Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2015.
The protocol ceremony was led by Elizabeth Villalobos Luna, president of the Canaco; its general director, Luis Felipe Quintana Rocha; Carlos Ernesto Ortiz Villegas, rector of the UTCJ and the director of Linkage, Óscar Manuel Berumen Martínez.
Ortiz Villegas thanked the business leaders for their willingness and enthusiasm to establish this strategic alliance, which marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration that will benefit both the student community and the Chamber’s member companies.
“Through this agreement, we seek to promote various projects for economic and social development. Likewise, our students will have the opportunity to carry out their internships within the companies affiliated to Canaco, which will allow them to apply their knowledge in a real environment,” said Ortiz.
The business leader acknowledged the contribution that educational institutions make to the productive sector of goods and services through training, and stressed that the joint actions will lead to an improvement in the conditions of the border.
“Both the productive sector, as well as the educational institutions and society, we must make synergy to improve the conditions of our city. Currently in Ciudad Juarez there is a great need for specialized personnel, who emigrate to other latitudes because here they do not find the spaces to develop themselves,” commented Villalobos Luna.
Isla Monserrat Santana Villalobos, head of the Department of Business Liaison and Internships, added that this agreement, which will be offered in collaboration with the Municipality of Juarez, will set the tone to start with the above mentioned course, which will be free of charge for 20 MSMEs of the border area.
