EL PASO, TX – The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has been recognized as the best value among all Texas universities, according to a recent study conducted by Research.com.
The report, which aims to assist students in their college selection process, weighed a multitude of factors including academic excellence and rigor, affordability, a wide range of degree offerings and return on investment.
“I am grateful that UTEP is being recognized for its great value and excellent results,” said President Heather Wilson. “UTEP is one of the best investments students can make for their future.”
UTEP’s national ranking for best value was 27th. UTEP also ranked seventh in terms of best value among the 566 colleges and universities in the southern United States featured in the report.
“The analysis is based on data from sources such as the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the Peterson database, and OpenAlex, which cover evaluations of more than 6,000 institutions,” according to Research.com.
UTEP’s ranking comes in a landmark year in which the University has received several accolades for its success in providing accessible, quality education. Among the University’s accomplishments this year are its second consecutive record freshman enrollment, as well as UTEP being ranked by the Wall Street Journal as the best university in Texas for upward social mobility. The University has also announced that it will not raise tuition or mandatory fees for the next two years.
“One of UTEP’s fundamental goals is to transform the lives of our graduates, their families and our community,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr. Amanda Vasquez. “This ranking is a testament to the success we have had in realizing that goal, as well as our ongoing mission to provide accessible, quality education to all who seek better opportunities.”
