MATAMOROS, TAMPS – In order to strengthen its international ties and open academic opportunities for its students, the Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros (UTM) received a visit from the heads of the U.S. Consulates in Matamoros and Monterrey, Brianna Powers and Melissa Bishop, respectively.
Diana Masso Quintana, President of the University, said that the meeting was part of the institution’s initiatives to provide its students with unique academic experiences that allow them to develop their potential on a global level.
The rector showed the U.S. officials the wide range of educational offerings of the university, emphasizing the technological and innovative programs that are part of the specialized training that prepares students for the challenges of the future.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that UTM’s robotics laboratory is a state-of-the-art space where students acquire practical experience in advanced technology.
In addition, the achievements of the Robotics and Science and Technology Club, whose members have excelled in national and international competitions, were shared.
Masso Quintana stressed the importance of generating strategic alliances that facilitate students’ access to exchange programs, international certifications and joint innovation projects with institutions and companies in the United States.
The rector thanked the U.S. diplomats for their presence and reiterated her interest in consolidating new cooperation schemes between UTM and U.S. universities through the consulates.
