MONTERREY, NL – Nuevo Leon seeks to consolidate its position as an Airport Hub with the start of operations of the international Viva Aerobús Monterrey-Austin route at Terminal C of the Monterrey International Airport, a service that will operate four times a week.
In addition, the Government of Nuevo Leon highlighted that as a support to working mothers and the general population in breastfeeding period, a Breastfeeding Center was opened at the site, guaranteeing the right of all women to feed their babies.
The Governor of Nuevo Leon, Samuel Garcia, highlighted that this flight, together with others to be initiated by Viva Aerobus, represent an enormous potential, as they represent great connectivity benefits, not only with Monterrey, but also linking Austin travelers with 50 other cities in the country.
Likewise, it was informed that the service will transport users in approximately 40 minutes, being used by tourists, fellow countrymen, and even personnel of the companies that will be installed in the state.
Previously, the airline had already announced the launching of six new flights to the United States to Austin, Denver, Miami, New York (JFK), San Francisco (Oakland) and Orlando; three to the interior of Mexico: Durango, Tapachula and La Paz; and the increase of its trips in a large part of its routes already in operation from the city of Monterrey.
This route expansion will result in a total of 13 million seats offered in Monterrey by 2024; this represents an increase in capacity of 23 percent, almost 2.5 million seats more than what it operated in 2023.
Service to Austin began on March 22, while the route to Orlando will begin on May 9 with three flights a week; and service to Miami and San Francisco (Oakland) will begin on July 1 with three and two weekly frequencies, respectively. Monterrey – New York details will be announced shortly.
