During the inauguration of the 5th plant of the maquiladora Werner Co., Enrique Escobar Serrano, representing the Mayor, said that Ciudad Juarez has resumed its industrial vocation. The manufacturing company is headquartered in the North Gate Industrial Park and it has five plants in this border
, two in the U.S., one in Vietnam, one in Australia and two in England, although most production is comes from Ciudad Juarez. The company produces aluminum ladders and fiberglass, while the new plant will produce toolboxes of aluminum and steel. It will employ 1,600 people distributed in five plants, and there are plans to hire another 400 people next year. “We have an operation of nearly US$7 million, and the company is the largest ladder manufacturer in the world”, said Eddie Ignacio, Werner Co.´s COO.
