LAS CRUCES, NM – The City of Las Cruces Airport Advisory Board will review its Master Plan next week to discuss progress to date on reactivating the air terminal.
The meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 2007B of City Hall, according to local authorities.
During the session, the Advisory Board will also analyze and consider possible alternatives to the airport. Since January 10, the start of commercial flights at the city’s airport was celebrated in Las Cruces.
The analysis of alternatives to the airport is critical as it will provide options for the future of Las Cruces International Airport. This step will lead to the identification of a preferred option and the establishment of a capital improvement plan.
Interested residents were invited to attend and participate in the discussion on the future of Las Cruces International Airport.
Las Cruces International Airport (LRU) is located just off Interstate 10 on the West Mesa about 10 minutes from downtown. The airport has three runways (including a precision instrument approach), two full-service fixed-base operators, ample tie-down space.
Also on display at LRU is a collection of about 60 historic model airplanes and ships assembled by Rolf Mitchel, who donated the collection to the city in 2014.
