LAS CRUCES, NM – New high-speed broadband service is now available in the Las Cruces Industrial and Innovation Park, thanks to an investment in the Doña Ana County fiber network by Conterra Networks.
According to information from the Las Cruces City Council, the project will provide Internet speeds of up to 10 gigabytes per second with 99.99% network reliability for tenants of the Industrial and Innovation Park, located about 10 miles west of downtown along Interstate 10.
“With the addition of increased reliability and connectivity, the Las Cruces Industrial and Innovation Park is a more attractive location than ever for companies looking to relocate or expand,” said Ifo Pili, Las Cruces City Manager.
“Strategically located in the Borderplex with easy access to I-10, I-25 and the Las Cruces Airport, we know this is a prime location for businesses to thrive and grow. This expanded broadband service adds to our economic development momentum,” he added.
Conterra Networks has invested $9.5 million in the project so far and has announced an estimated additional $12.6 million investment over the next five years.
“Prospective tenants in the Las Cruces Industrial and Innovation Park have been asking for broadband services,” added Elizabeth Teeters, Economic Development Director for the City of Las Cruces. “We are thrilled that there will now be even more services for businesses looking to relocate to Las Cruces and, specifically, the industrial park.”
In addition to high-speed connectivity, the Las Cruces Industrial and Innovation Park is Quest Site certified and offers 500 acres that are lease or purchase ready and 400 acres that are shovel ready. With utilities within the industrial park and a prime location, the industrial park also offers the opportunity for companies to operate within a Foreign Trade Zone.
